As an artist I understand how difficult, endless, and at times pointless it can to promote yourself. It feels as though; it’s all for nothing, does anyone pay attention and are you wasting your time? I know this feeling all too well. For years I promoted myself and got nowhere. Sure, my work was displayed in gallery exhibits and coffeehouses, but how many people actually saw my photos, hanging in the space, for a month? Especially in a gallery, where people go for one purpose, to look at art, usually by someone they’ve heard of, a friend, family member, etc.
Anyway, this is why I moved my blog in the direction of promoting local arts as well as the artists who create them. A place where the artist has some say in the process of promoting themselves, without it coming directly from them. For some reason it gets more attention when it comes from an outside source, someone who isn’t a friend or relative, someone who isn’t bias.
My goal is not to compete with other community websites or magazines, but for us to all work together, to create a better community, a stronger community. Please check out the sites below for more on the community…

This looks great – the idea of creating a greater community in art by linking together is one that is certainly doing the rounds a lot lately – as an artist it’s very encouraging to see and really refreshing to know that others out there are working the same way. Thanks for this site – some great stuff on here!
